iPhone Recovery App
We are pleased to announce the launch of the iPromises Recovery Companion app for iPhone. Alumni will find this to be a wonderful tool for tracking moods and behaviors, especially triggers. It also lets you keep track of meetings and service as well as contacts in the program. Sunday, August 15th- Beach Volleyball. Meet other Alumni for a fun filled volleyball game on Sunday..put together by alumni. This is the first time this has happened and if there is great response it may become something that will be a regular Sunday activity for all who want to play. So support each other in fellowship. The volleyball court is at 6660 Esplanade , Playa Del Rey, CA 90293. This Sunday starting 11:am until you get tired. August 20th @ 9:30 am. Come and join us for a 2 hr. hike on a trail near Promises MLB. We will meet at Promises MLB. Parking is free. Email me at tsimmons@promises.com for the address.
We will have water. Bring sunscreen and a good attitude. This is not an easy hike but is doable and a great workout.

Please come out and share your talent! The artist group is designed solely for the artist/creative person. This group will meet every third Saturday at 8:30- 10pm. Bring your instruments, writing projects, comedy act, painting, or whatever you would like to share with the group. Visitors are welcome with an invitation from a Promises Alumni. Our next meeting is Aug 21. (We cancelled the July 17th group because of upcoming events)We will have another great speaker and performer on Aug 21st. I Look forward to seeing you there!

Promises SHINE program has a volunteer opportunity for you! Every last Monday of the month (excluding holidays) we will be volunteering to feed the homeless at St. Joseph’s- Bread & Roses.
Each day, up to 150 homeless men, women and children eat at Bread and Roses. In place of a soup line, guests are provided with the ambience of a restaurant in which volunteers act as waiters while diners eat a meal set at tables replete with tablecloths and fresh flowers. The Café fosters feelings of respect and trust between guests and staff.
Last year, Bread and Roses Café served over 25,000 hot, nutritious meals to more than 2,000 men, women, and children.
